Objetivos

The International Doctoral Program in Sustainable Human Development has as major goals:

  • Make consciously sustainable human development as a process of building cooperative actions between social actors and creation of consistent and sustainable initiatives.
  • Refer to international aid as a cooperation between equal partners in order to facilitate the co-evolution and become an innovation and education laboratory for social actors.
  • Have an integrated view of development and cooperation in the context of globalization that is consistent with the UN Agenda 2030 toward overcoming unilateral approaches.
  • Contribute to drive complex planning processes that involve the convergence of different skills and goals of human development and the interplay between local, national and international.
  • Analyze the potential of decentralized cooperation between local communities and its role in local development, national and global.
  • Understand how the rights of citizenship are the main focus of local policy choices.
  • Analyze the relationship between economics and development as a key factor in the production and sustainable development.

Reseach Themes

The uniqueness of this PhD is the search for constructive dialogue between disciplinary approaches on the issue of sustainability of development in different territories and contexts. The varied experience of the faculty allows them to take into account interactions and possible different visions that are part of the complexity of sustainable development.

The international dimension of the PhD provides an additional level of opportunity, from culturally different contexts, to analyze topics such as:
